Conversation on your own computer
She runs on an AI model installed on a Mac in your home or office, so everyday conversation does not go to an AI company.
How we know: In daily use on our own installation. A full test with the internet unplugged is still to come.
She speaks and listens
Her voice is made on the machine itself, and the iPad turns your speech into text on the iPad. You hold a button on the iPad to talk to her.

Memory you can see and change
She remembers facts, people, dates and corrections. You can look at what she keeps, correct it, delete it, export it, or tell her to forget something. She can still make mistakes, which is why you can check and correct her.

Your private documents
She reads PDFs, Word and Excel files and text files, and answers questions about them with a note of where she found the answer. Scanned pages are read while the house is quiet, so they are ready a little later. Files can be up to 50 MB.

Photos and letters
She can read a photo or a letter, keep it encrypted and find it again later.

Alarms, timers, music and your calendar. She drafts texts and emails; you press send yourself.

Outside connections need your permission
Your conversations, memory and files stay on the machine. Anything Apothy herself would send out, such as a weather question or a web search, needs your approval first, once or for a set time. Setting her up downloads her models. Apple features you choose to use, such as music and calendar, work through Apple as they normally do.
How we know: Automated tests. On our own installation every outside connection is switched off.
Separate spaces for a household
In a household, each person with their own paired iPad gets a private space plus a shared household space. This is for households, not staff: the owner’s business space is kept apart from personal and belongs to that one owner.
How we know: Automated tests. Not yet shown with a second person on our own installation.
Being built
Daily encrypted backups
Backups to an external drive kept with the machine, never to the internet. Backing up and restoring pass our automated tests; we are checking daily backups on the installation hardware before we rely on them.
How we know: Automated tests, and one measured run in September 2026. Not yet running daily on our own installation.
Running with no internet at all
Everyday conversation already runs on the machine. We are testing a full day with the internet unplugged on the installation hardware.
How we know: Not yet tested with the internet unplugged.
Change her AI model, keep her memory
Her memory lives outside the AI model, so the model can be swapped. Swapping models while keeping her memory has worked in our tests; we are re-checking it on the installation hardware before we offer it.
How we know: Passed our tests and a demonstration in September 2026. Not yet repeated on the installation hardware.
Apple Home lights, plugs and thermostats
Built, and works in our tests with a simulated iPad. We are still testing it with real devices. She does not control locks, doors or alarms.

Several staff on one business installation
Staff each with their own private space inside one business installation is not built yet. Today a business space belongs to one owner.

We help you choose it. Our current installation is a Mac mini with 64 GB of memory, an iPad to talk to her, and an external drive for backups.

Questions
Before you ask.
- Does anything leave my computer?
- Everyday conversation, memory and documents stay on the machine. Anything that would send information out, such as a weather or web search request, needs your permission first, once or for a set time. Setting her up downloads her models, and texts or emails she drafts are sent by you through your own apps.
- Do I still pay for AI by the message?
- Not for everyday conversation: a local model has no per-message charge from an AI company. If you choose to switch on an outside service, that service may have its own costs. We will talk through the costs of the hardware and installation when we arrange a demonstration.
- Will she work with all my apps?
- No. She works with the tools listed on this page as working today. We add connections one at a time, after testing them, and we will tell you plainly which ones are supported.
- Is her memory perfect?
- No memory is. You can see what she keeps, correct it when she gets something wrong, delete it, or tell her to forget something.
- Can my whole team use one installation?
- Not yet. Each person in a household gets their own private space, but a business space is for one owner today. Several staff on one installation is being built.
- Is the chat on this website running locally?
- No. The website conversation runs on Apothy servers with an outside AI service, so anyone can try it from a phone. A local installation runs on your own hardware.
